Chiropractor in Baltimore

If you are looking for a chiropractor in Baltimore, there are several things you may want to consider.
1) There are many different kinds of chiropractors, which can make selecting one somewhat difficult for an uninformed consumer. To make it easy, you can divide chiropractors into two main camps. One is the corrective care camp, and the other is the patch care camp. Corrective care means the the chiropractor will investigate to find the cause of your health problem and develop a plan to handle that cause. A patch care chiropractor is more interested in reducing your symptoms, but puts less or no emphasis on the cause of your problem. The doctors at Living Wellness Chiropractic recommend and provide the corrective approach, but will provide the patch approach as well, but only after the patient fully understands all their treatment options-- including the long-term consequences of the patch care choice.
2) Most clinics are owned an operated by one chiropractor. While there is nothing at all wrong with this fact, there are other clinics that have multiple doctors on staff. The advantage to visiting a multi-doctor is that you will get a multitude of viewpoints that will consider your case. Living Wellness Chiropractic's Baltimore location has five doctors on staff.
3) Some chiropractic offices do not accept insurance, and other only take insurance. At Living Wellness, we've tried to make it as easy for a patient to pursue care as possible. Therefore, Living Wellness, can work with most insurances, but also has affordable fees for cash paying patients.
4) Some chiropractic offices are not well integrated into the Baltimore health care community. Living Wellness Chiropractic is NOT one of those clinics. Although the doctors at Living Wellness provide a natural approach to health care, which is sometimes the complete opposite of what is offered in the medical community, Living Wellness has a well established network of medical doctors and other health care providers to which it can refer. Living Wellness co-manages it's patients with area doctors when necessary.
5) Finally, you should definitely make sure your office of choice is convenient for you and that is has an atmosphere in which you are comfortable-- as you will visit there more often than you would visit a medical office.

Baltimore Spine Specialist

If you are looking for a spine specialist in Baltimore, look no further than the doctors at Living Wellness Chiropractic. If you have not considered having a chiropractor as your conservative spine specialist, you MUST keep reading. In this author's opinion, there is not any other kind of health care provider in better position to conservatively manage spine problems than a chiropractor.
First, and most importantly, chiropractors provide a very safe method of care with few and extremely rare side effects. In fact, the average chiropractor pays 1/10 to 1/100 of what a typical medical doctor pays in malpractice insurance. As we all know, the insurance companies understand statistics and risk. Therefore, we can reasonably conclude that insurance companies believe that the treatment provided by chiropractors is more safe then treatment offered by medical doctors.
Second, chiropractors are trained in natural methods of care; spinal adjustments, physical therapy, exercises, and nutrition. In addition, a chiropractor is trained to find the cause of your spinal problem. Compare this to most pain management doctors or other medically oriented spine specialists who are trained to cover up your symptoms rather than find and address the cause of your problem. This may seem unbelievable to you, that most medical providers cover up symptoms, rather than find and fix the cause of the problem, but it is nevertheless true, in many cases. This is true almost every time a doctor prescribes a pain pill, high blood pressure pill, high cholesterol pill, does a nerve block or cortisone injection. In most of these cases, the treatment covers up the symptom but does not address the cause of the problem.
Third, chiropractors get great results with spine problems. And, because it is so safe, ususally the worst thing that can happen by starting your treatment with a chiropractor, is that you don't get a full resolution of your health problem and you end up being referred to another kind of health care provider. Because of the great results chiropractors get with spine problems, this occurs rarely.

Spine Doctor in Baltimore

There are several different kinds of spine doctors in Baltimore. The most conservative care spine doctors are chiropractors. Chiropractors are trained to handle anything from the garden variety back pain case to more complicated nerve injuries and accident traumas. There are several reasons to make a doctor of chiropractic your Baltimore Spine Doctor.
1. Chiropractors are trained to locate the cause of a problem and then to address that cause-- thereby handling the source of the problem rather than just treating symptoms. Many other types of spine doctors are focused on pain relief only. The problem with only addressing pain, rather than the health condition that is causing the pain, is that it leaves the patient pain free, with a deteriorating problem that they can't feel. Chiropractors are trained to locate the source of a patient's problem and fix it.
2. Chiropractors are able to help patients without the use of drugs or surgery. The vast majority of people who seek help from a chiropractor for their back or neck condition find excellent results. This is why chiropractic is the largest alternative health care profession in the world. Occasionally, a chiropractor finds a problem that requires treatment from another professional, such as a pain management specialist, or a surgeon. In those rare cases, the chiropractor may co-manage the patient with another professional or refer the patient out to receive care elsewhere. However, the vast majority of chiropractic patients make great gains and are very happy with care in the chiropractic office. Of course, the added benefit is that no drugs or surgery are included in chiropractic treatment.
3. If the care provided by a more conservative doctor, such as a chiropractor, does not fully handle a patient's problem, the patient can always select a more invasive method of care, such as drugs or surgery as a next option. However, if a patient first chooses a more risky type of care as a first choice, and then suffers from a side-effect of that treatment, it may be too late to avoid a serious complication by then going back to the more conservative doctor. Unfortunately, some side-effects of drugs or surgery can cause permanent life-long problems. Why not start with the most conservative of options? Chiropractic!

Baltimore Neck Specialist

If you are in search of a neck specialist in Baltimore, you'll find that you have plenty of doctors in various professions to choose from. The difficulty for the patient can be in knowing which kind of doctor or treatment is best. The problem is complicated by the fact that most primary care doctors also have limited knowlege outside of traditional pain management and surgery.
So, where do you look for a Baltimore neck specialist? Well, that will depend on many factors. Here are some things to consider in your search.
1. Do you already have a definitive diagnoisis? Anotherwords, do you already know what is wrong and now are simply looking for the best treatment option? In this case, you are looking to find a treatment which is proven to be most appropriate for your condition. You'll want to gather data from various sources along this line to help you make your decision.
2. Do you need help finding out what is wrong? In this case, you'll need a doctor with experience determining the exact cause of neck problems. You'll want to make sure that the doctor you select to help you is not simply looking to treat the pain. Anotherwords, many neck specialists are trained to apply drugs or use surgery to numb the pain without ever really fixing the cause of the pain. The problem with this approach is that the absence of pain often leaves a deteriorating condition to progress undetected. The best approach is to fix the cause of the pain, which of course gets rid of the pain too.
3. What kind of treatment do you want to receive? If you don't want drugs or surgery, you should not go to a doctor who offers drugs and surgery as the solution. Obviously, there are situations where drugs or surgery are necessary. However, in most neck pain cases, there are natural treatment options (no drugs, no surgery), which will not only get rid of the pain, but actually fix the problem. Obviously the best option would be a treatment which fixes the health problem which is causing the pain, therefore also gets rid of the pain, and has few if any side effects.
The doctors at Living Wellness Chiropractic are trained to locate and fix the cause of a patients health problem. When a patient arrives at Living Wellness Chiropractic, they receive a consultation and thorough evaluation. Any and all problems that are identified are then shared with the patient-- along with recommendations on how to handle those problems. Most cases of neck pain can be resolved by our doctors. Occasionally, a referral is made to another specialist for further evaluation or treatment.
If you would like to find out if the doctors at Living Wellness Chiropractic can help you, give a call to the office, 443-524-6600 and schedule a consultation. The most important thing to remember is that you must stay informed and involved in your treatment. It's your health and your future!
