The doctors at Living Wellness Chiropractic treat patients with health problems which range from head to toe. However, one of the most common problems that our doctors help resolve is headaches. Our success with headaches begins with our knowledge of the problem-- actually, the problems. You see, because there are many different kinds of headaches that are caused by many different things. What Baltimore headache sufferers find unique about our approach is that our main interest is in finding the cause of the headache rather than simply looking to numb the patient's perception of the symptom. Once we identify the actual cause of the problem, we can then help the patient address it at the root.
Our approach starts with a thorough consultation as well as the needed exam procedures. Sometimes the exam may include x-rays of the neck or motion and sensitivity tests of the head an neck region. This helps us to identify environmental factors such as diet or toxic exposure as well as biomechanical factors which may be contributing or causing the headache. Occasionally, our findings necessitate a referral to another health care professional for examination or treatment. But more commonly, we are able to resolve the patient's headaches with treatment at our clinic. In fact, our success with headache treatment in the Baltimore community has earned us the nickname The Baltimore Headache Institute, among former patients!
Chiropractic treatment is safe and effective. At the outset of care the doctors at Living Wellness explain to new patients exactly what is wrong and exactly what is needed to resolve the condition. Results from treatment often take only days or weeks to achieve and most insurances contribute toward care.
If you are tired of dealing with your headaches, or sick of the same old medical approach that is giving you no releif, give the doctors at Living Wellness Chiropractic a call to schedule a consultation. Call 443-524-6600 and schedule today.

Whiplash Treatment in Baltimore
If you are looking for whiplash treatment in Baltimore, you'll find that there are several options. The first and most basic thing to consider is that whiplash is a syndrome which includes symptoms as well as associated damage to soft tissue, such as muscles and ligaments. It is usually characterized by an injury during which the neck moves through extreme extension and extreme flexion at a high speed and during a short time interval. This type of injury is most often associated with car accidents but the truth is, whiplash can occur in many other situations-- including falls, sports injuries and other accidents.
One of the most important things to remember when seeking treatment for whiplash in Baltimore is that while most of your attention is probably focused on the pain, headache or loss of motion in the neck, the real danger with whiplash is the problems caused by undetected or untreated tissue damage to the muscles and ligaments. This damage is usually also the cause of the pain, headache or loss of motion, however, many common whiplash treatments only focus on temporarily covering up the pain without fixing the damaged tissue. Any treatment approach which only focuses on symptoms, such as pain relievers, muscle relaxers or anti-inflammatory drugs without doing some sort of manual work on the bones, joints, ligaments and muscles, will leave the injuried open to future problems.
The comprehensive treatment approach offered by Living Wellness Chiropractic for Baltimore whiplash injuries is focused on handling not only the immediate problem of pain and discomfort but also properly rehabilitating any injuried joints, muscles and ligaments. Also, long term structural damage to the neck is often caused by whiplash injuries. If, in fact, structural damage is present following a whiplash injury, if can often be observed on x-ray. That is why the doctors at Living Wellness Chiropractic are highly trained on how to take and review x-rays of neck trauma patients. After a thorough examination, the doctors at Living Wellness develop a comprehensive plan to handle the immediate symptoms of injuried patients and then follow-up with recommendations on how the injury should be properly rehabiliated so as to minimize the chances of future problems. This approach gives each patient the opportunity to choose the kind of care that matches their needs and wants.
If you've recently experienced a whiplash injury in Baltimore (or any neck injury for that matter) give the doctors at Living Wellness a call. Even if you think that your symptoms will go away on their own, your future is better served if you get an evaluation and document any damage that may be present.

Neck Pain Treatment in Baltimore

Neck Pain Treatment in Baltimore
Pain in the neck! Ouch! Not only is it uncomfortable, it’s annoying and it's sometimes persistent nature has lead it to become a common expression! However, solving neck problems is relatively easy, if you know how to go about it—and you have not waited too long to handle the problem. If you are trying to find neck pain treatment in Baltimore, this blog may contain some things you may want to consider.
First, it’s important to be looking to handle the right problem. Neck pain is a symptom—a signal, it is not the actual problem. Pain or any symptom for that matter, is a signal from your body that there is something wrong. Commonly, neck pain sufferers will attempt to get relief from the pain by taking a pain killer. The problem with this approach is that taking a pill to turn off the pain signal makes it feel better, but ignores the actual problem.
A better approach is to investigate the true cause of the neck pain, and to come up with a plan to fix the thing that is actually going wrong in the body. Remember, the pain is a signal that something is wrong. Your body is signaling you to look into it. It’s wise to listen.
One of the best ways to determine the cause of neck pain is to visit a chiropractor. Chiropractors are trained to determine the underlying cause of a patient’s health condition rather than covering up the symptom with a drug or surgery. The first thing a chiropractor will do is a consultation and examination, including diagnostic testing such as x-rays. From the data gathered the chiropractor will determine the cause of the problem and the best course of action. Finally you’ll be given a full explanation of the findings along with recommendations. In most cases, the cause of neck pain can be resolved with chiropractic treatment. On occasion, referral to another health care provider may be necessary.

Baltimore Low Back Treatment Guide

Baltimore Low Back Treatment Guide
Back pain can be one of the most frustrating health conditions to deal with for a patient-- particularly if that patient is using conventional medical treatment. Frankly, most medical doctors that I know don't list back pain as their favorite symptom to treat. This is because the most common causes of back pain do not lend themselves to convention medical treatment. This results in frustration for both the patient and medical doctor.
Most low back issues are caused by mechanical problems in the spine. This means that there is a structural or functional problem of the bones, muscles or joints in or around the spine. Common medical treatments for back pain include muscle relaxers and pain killers. These treatments can sometimes provide temporary relief of the symptoms, however they do nothing for the underlying mechanical problems that caused the symptoms in the first place. The reason that these approaches sometimes appear to work in mechanical low back cases is because the deterioration of the condition happens over years or decades before constant symptoms result. Most often, back pain or stiffness will come and go less often initially, then more often as the problem progresses. So, if a patient takes pain pills or a muscle relaxer during one of those episodes, it apparently cures the problem, although what has actually occured is that the symptom was covered up and the problem was left to continue worsening.
The best way to fix a mechanical low back problem is to apply a treatment which addresses the structure and/or function of the bones, muscles and/or joints of the back region. That is exactly the focus of chiropractic treatment. When you go to a chiropractor, the first thing that will happen is a consultation and exam which may include diagnostics, such as x-rays. Once the chiropractor is able to determine the actual cause of the problem, he or she will share with you the recommendation of how to best go about fixing the problem. In the case of low back pain, the solution is usually treatment by the chiropractor. But, in rare cases, the chiropractor may refer you to another health care provider if the cause of your back pain is something the requires another approach.
